The Maine company that makes our joiner’s rule is getting out of the flat ruler business. Skowhegan Wooden Ruler Co. told us that once their current stock of rulers has been sold off, that will be the end of that part of their business.
They will continue to make their wooden growth ruler, and they left the door open to continuing to do custom work for us.
If you have ever wanted one of their rulers, now is the time to buy them. These are excellent woodworking tools. Well-made, well-marked and perfect for benchwork.
We are sorry to hear this news. They are very nice people who are great to deal with.
Check out what is left here in their etsy store.

Sad to hear. I just ordered a couple of the last 24" rules available on their Etsy page. Did they say why they were ending this part of their business? 157 years is a good run...
For anyone still looking, their website still lists them for sale https://skowheganwoodenrule.com/our-products/flat-rulers/product/20-24-flat-rulers
And Highland Woodworking seems to have some in stock as well https://www.highlandwoodworking.com/products/wooden-rules?variant=50821932777754
Bummer! Their wood rulers are the best!
