A Block Plane to Avoid

Well-made, but not a favorite.

A lot of students who pass through our workshop own a Lie-Nielsen 60-1/2 R rabbeting block plane in their kit. When I casually ask them why they own it, almost all of them respond: It’s two (or three) planes for the price of one.
